The scenery is versatile and the energy is relaxed but romantic! AKA, the perfect combo for engagement photos that feel like YOU. Balboa Park

Okay, I’m OBSESSED with this one. Balboa Park has everything: dreamy gardens, stunning architecture, cute little nooks and fountains, and just SO much variety. Whether you're going for natural, editorial, or a little bit of both, this place delivers every single time.

Windansea Beach

If you're dreaming of a beach that feels intimate and tucked away, Windansea is it. With its rugged rocks, soft sand, and that perfect beach breeze, it’s one of my favorites for laid-back, windswept engagement photos. Think “we’re in love and running around barefoot” energy.

Scripps Pier

Scripps is for all my symmetry lovers! The lines, the lighting, the way the sun filters through the pier at sunset, is stunning! It’s modern, minimal, and super striking. Great for couples who want something bold but timeless.

La Jolla Cove

This location is such a classic, and honestly? It’s a full-on SoCal experience. Ocean views, dramatic cliffs, maybe a few seals photobombing your pics—what’s not to love? It’s playful, scenic, and totally unique.

Coronado Beach

If golden sand, glowing sunsets, and an iconic hotel backdrop sound like your thing—Coronado is for you. It’s got that elevated, timeless energy that works beautifully for classy and coastal engagement photos.

What to Wear to your San Diego Engagement Photos

When it comes to planning what to wear for your San Diego engagement photos, the key is feeling like the best version of YOU. San Diego has this naturally relaxed, coastal vibe, so it’s the perfect excuse to lean into soft, flowy pieces that move with the ocean breeze. I always recommend earthy tones or neutrals, like ivory, sage, or terracotta because they photograph beautifully against the beach, cliffs, and gardens. Avoid loud patterns or super bright colors that might distract from your connection. And if you’re torn between outfits, bring two! One casual and one more elevated is a great combo that gives us variety and helps tell your story. Shoes matter too! Go for sandals, boots, or just kick them off and go barefoot (especially on the beach!). Layers are also your BFF since the weather can shift quickly near the coast. A light jacket or oversized sweater adds texture and keeps you cozy. Most importantly, wear something you feel amazing in!
