What makes me different

For those of you who don't know, "Joy" is actually my middle name. It's something that's become a big part of how I approach both my work and the experience I want to create for my couples. More than anything, I hope you feel that joy - not just in your photos, but throughout the entire process of working together.

To me, wedding photography has never been just about beautiful images. It's about creating photographs that bring you right back to how your wedding felt. The emotions, the people you love most, the quiet in between moments, and the memories you'll want to relive for decades.

One thing my couples consistently tell me is that I bring a sense of calm to their wedding day. I genuinely care about making sure you feel supported, taken care of, and fully present from beginning to end. My background in wedding planning helps me anticipate what's coming next, keep things running smoothly, and step in wherever I'm needed - whether that's adjusting your veil, bustling your dress, pinning on a boutonniere, or simply reminding you to take a deep breath.

I care deeply about getting to know my couples because I believe the best photographs come from trust and connection. By the time your wedding day arrives, my hope is that it feels like a friend is there documenting one of the biggest weekends of your life.

My approach blends documentary storytelling with editorial portraits, so you don't have to choose between genuine moments and beautiful, timeless images. You'll have both.
